Admissions Reader, (401301678)

Admissions. The Admissions Reader is a part-time seasonal position participating in a team effort to evaluate and select students for the Fuqua School of Business Programs. The Reader reports to the Admissions Assistant Dean, Operations. This is a seasonal position working an abbreviated schedule from September through Mid-May. Hours are flexible. The Admissions Reader is a member of the admissions committee, and is required to sign a confidentiality agreement in accordance with Duke University Policy. At the discretion and invitation of the Director, a contract Admissions Reader may be invited to renew the contract for the next admission cycle. Duties include reading and evaluating qualifications of prospective students utilizing established standards and guidelines; submitting evaluations for review by the Admissions Committee; attending regular Admissions Committee meetings; participating in giving feedback on Admissions Committee decisions and assisting with file completion processes prior to each round of admissions. Bachelors' Degree required, however an advanced degree is preferred. Prior admissions or industry experience preferred. (PAID ON THE BIWEEKLY PAYROLL)

Staff Assistant, Alumni Relations. Level 8, (401306593)

Development and Alumni Relations (DAR).  The Staff Assistant, Alumni Relations manages projects and performs administrative functions in support of the Alumni Relations team at the Fuqua School of Business. The Staff Assistant reports to the Director of Alumni Relations and collaborates with the Development and Alumni Relations department and other Fuqua and Duke University departments on overall strategy, initiatives and events. Two years of postsecondary education required; bachelor’s degree preferred. An understanding of institutional fundraising and experience in development, alumni relations, or higher education preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required as well as a willingness and ability to master a proprietary SAP database tool. Applicants demonstrate refined written and oral communication and customer service skills. This position requires superb organizational skills. Applicant must be detail oriented, flexible, and able to work independently and in a team environment. Strong work ethic in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment. Regional Coordinator, India & Latin America, Level 11, (401306323)

Global Business Development – Regional Offices. The Regional Coordinator will support and participate in a team effort to market, recruit and yield students for the MBA, MQM, MMS and non-degree Executive Education programs at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. S/he will also provide administrative management and coordination for marketing and recruiting functions, reporting to the Regional Director located in the United States. The coordinator will support ongoing planning and organization of program and residency planning, admissions, career services and business development within their assigned regions. Some travel within the regions will be required. The coordinator will also work closely with Admissions, the Career Management Center, Marketing, Development and the Dean’s Office to ensure strategic coordination of all efforts. The coordinator will require the initiative and commitment to do a lot of the “hands on” work. Some global travel will be required with focus on India and Latin America. A Bachelor’s degree with an international and/or business focus is preferred with minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, business development, career services, admissions and/or program planning preferably in industry or another top business school. Proficiency in Spanish is strongly desired plus excellent English language capabilities. Experience working in a global environment, both in person and virtually, is a plus. Must be able to quickly adapt to living in an environment requiring strong cultural sensitivities and flexibility. Experience with social media outlets; excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and experience with client management systems is preferred. Strong skills and experience managing programs, admissions and/or marketing internationally is preferred. Excellent organizational skills and excellent problem-solving ability; strong skills in public speaking and presentations plus strong written and verbal communication skills are all essential to success in this position. Assistant Director, Annual Fund, Level 12, (401297427)

Development and Alumni Relations.  The Assistant Director, Annual Fund represents the Fuqua alumni audience in a university-wide annual fund centralized communication plan, coordinates and implements fundraising solicitations, and manages data and reports that support efforts to increase annual unrestricted financial support for the Fuqua School of Business through its $4.3M annual fund. The Assistant Director reports to the Director, Communications and Donor Relations and collaborates with the Development and Alumni Relations department and other Fuqua and Duke University departments on overall strategy, initiatives and events. Bachelor’s degree required. An understanding of institutional fundraising and experience in development, alumni relations, or higher education preferred. Three to five years’ successful project management experience, including meeting numerous deadlines and objectives and managing multiple concurrent projects with limited resources preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and willingness and ability to master a proprietary SAP database tool. Refined written and oral communication and customer service skills required. Must demonstrate exceptional ability to think strategically and analytically. Assistant Director for Business Development, MQM, Level 12, (401290197)

Career Management Center (CMC). The Assistant Director will build the presence of Fuqua’s new Master of Quantitative Management (MQM) program in the employment marketplace through developing recruiting partnerships, educating employers on the capabilities of MQM graduates, and executing marketing initiatives. The selected candidate will provide leadership for assessing, creating, implementing, and measuring a comprehensive strategy to build an MQM recruiting portfolio. This is a half-time (20 hours per week) for a 16 - 18 month duration and reports to the Director of Employer Engagement and Operations. Graduate degree preferred. 3 – 5 years business development, marketing, sales, or corporate recruiting experience with experience in or exposure to Human Resources, Recruiting, and other hiring channels and processes to identify decision makers and influencers within organizations. Familiarity with U.S. visa requirements desired, to educate employers on hiring international students. Strong portfolio of communication skills, from stand-up presentations to writing to direct outreach. Skills in market analysis and research are required. Exposure to the emerging role of analytics in business today highly desired, to rapidly understand and identify target companies and job types and to effectively message to prospective employers.  Must have sharp customer focus. Assistant Director, Alumni Relations, Level 12, (401282012)

Development and Alumni Relations (DAR). The Assistant Director, Alumni Relations identifies alumni who are interested in becoming more engaged with Fuqua or with whom the school would like to be more engaged; creates, sources, manages, and defines alumni engagement opportunities, including volunteerism and philanthropy; communicates these opportunities to alumni; and tracks involvement in such activities. This position reports to the Director of Alumni Relations and collaborates with the Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) team and other Fuqua and Duke University departments on overall strategy, initiatives and events. Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in higher education, alumni relations, or development preferred.  We are seeking applicants with volunteer management experience; project management experience, including meeting numerous deadlines and objectives and managing multiple concurrent projects with limited resources; refined written and oral communication and customer service skills; experience and comfort in interacting with students, alumni and parents, including senior level executives; excellent teamwork and collaboration skills; excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and experience handling confidential information as well as creativity, adaptability, diplomatic skills and sense of humor. Willingness and ability to travel (6-8 domestic trips per year) and work on evenings or weekends as necessary. Strong work ethic in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness and ability to master proprietary database tools. Marketing Communications Associate, Level 12, (401281377)

Marketing. The Marketing Communications Associate is a member of a team that engages in strategic marketing for The Fuqua School of Business. This position is responsible for producing a wide range of writing and editorial marketing projects while working closely with a team of designers, subject matter experts, production managers and web developers and reports to the Director of Marketing. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to writing and editing compelling marketing content for websites, advertisements, emails, direct mail, email, landing pages, newsletters, brochures, white papers, case studies, and other marketing campaigns/collateral; participating in the campaign development process from concept to execution; and creating and administering content management and project communications plans. This position works closely with the Director of Marketing to ensure that expectations are met on a per project basis in terms of content, quality, and turnaround time. Creativity and attention to accuracy and detail are essential for success in this position. Applicants must work well under tight deadlines and be able to maintain productive and professional relationships with coworkers, students, alumni and other stakeholders. Service Desk Analyst, Band C, (401304694)

IT, Technical Support Center. The Service Desk Analyst is the critical first contact for information technology needs for end users at the Fuqua School of Business. This position requires excellent communication and technology skills in order to effectively answer and solve first level technical questions, triage and route as needed and monitor until resolved. The Service Desk Analyst will dispatch for immediate technical support to Fuqua’s classrooms and seminar rooms. In addition this position will be responsible for maintenance and repair of printers and computers in the MBA Computing Space and all other duties as assigned. The Service Desk Analyst is expected to gain mastery of Fuqua specific applications and technologies. The ideal candidate will be able to configure, deploy, and maintain Windows workstations; identify, install, configure, and upgrade software; identify, install, configure, and upgrade hardware; utilize ServiceNow ticketing application; demonstrate strong customer service background; create/manage Active Directory computer and user accounts; troubleshoot network connectivity issues relating to wired/wireless connectivity, VPN connectivity, and network printing. We are seeking applicants with current professional certification in Microsoft operating systems and/or applications; current A+ and/or Network+ certification; strong customer service background; working knowledge of the Mac operating system; ability to maintain a professional bearing in sometimes difficult circumstances; familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, web browsers and email clients, anti-virus and anti-spyware tools. Bachelor’s degree with one year experience in IT or customer service field is preferred or the equivalent combination of training, certifications and/or experience. (PAID ON THE MONTHLY PAYROLL)

Associate Director, MBA Career Services, Level 13, (401298705)

Career Management Center (CMC). The Associate Director serves as a key leader in designing and delivering a portfolio of career services for the Daytime MBA program. The Daytime MBA program is regularly comprised of 35-40% students from outside of the US and this position works with both domestic students and those from outside of the US. The Associate Director also plays a key role in ensuring consistency with and maximizing efficiencies between the career services offerings of the MMS, MQM and MBA programs. S/he ensures a comprehensive program of workshops, counseling, recruiting, and other services that prepares them to succeed in the global employment marketplace. Fundamental to success in this role will be proactive information sharing, collaboration, and communication across the CMC and within Fuqua. Significant work will involve not only within the entire CMC team, but also across student leadership within these programs; a variety of Fuqua departments and centers; other areas of the Duke community; and corporate recruiters and alumni. The position reports directly to the Director of Daytime MBA Career Services. Graduate degree required, with strong preference for an MBA, Master in Counseling, or other relevant discipline. Minimum of 5 - 8 years career counseling, corporate recruiting/HR, outplacement, or other relevant experience highly desirable. Strong portfolio of communication skills including presentation skills, with previous experience developing and presenting career development workshops and programs, and capacity to communicate information and key messages to diverse stakeholders, from senior executives to prospective students required. Senior Systems Analyst, Band D, (401297288)

IT Administrative Information Systems. The Senior Systems Analyst oversees multiple business-critical applications or systems that are essential to the daily operations of multiple departments within Fuqua, ensuring the continuous availability, functionality, security, and integrity of those systems. The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for researching, analyzing, and documenting business requirements in support of ongoing process improvements in support of the ongoing operations of the school.  This includes interviewing stakeholders, compiling user requirements, coordinating with internal and external IT resources to ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications, development of documentation and user training, and the ongoing maintenance and support of those systems. This position reports to the manager of the Administrative Information Systems group at Fuqua. BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field. 5-7 years of work experience in higher education with the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Suite, specifically including the Student Admissions, Student Records and Financial Aid modules is preferred. Prior working experience with PeopleSoft Admissions, Student Records and Financial Aid and one or more of the following applications (or equivalent):  Imagenow Application Administration and Slate CRM Application. Administration Experience with the following toolsets is also preferred:  SQL/SQR, advanced MS Office knowledge, programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, and VB). Very strong communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills required. (PAID ON THE MONTHLY PAYROLL)

Director of Operations, (401307020)

Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy. (Internal applicants only.) The Director of Operations is the senior operations leader with responsibility to support the Center Director and Deputy Directors for making critical fiscal, administrative, and operational decisions that enable the Center to become a national and global force for research and implementation of health policy reforms; accelerate transformation in healthcare seeking to improve health outcomes and reduce cost; drive research and outreach agendas  contributing to healthcare financing and delivery reform; enhance biomedical innovation; promote community and population health, and support educational programs in health policy and management. This position serves as the Director of Operations in managing the operational aspects of the Center and reports to the Center Director. Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably with education in the life sciences, clinical discipline, business administration or related field. The position requires prior leadership experience in biomedical or policy research settings, including academic and federally funded research and medicine, biotechnology, and medical products industry.
